Automatic Spray Paint System
Paint and bake sign letters in one machine
Automatic spraying for sign letters and small parts
Load the letters and start the machine. Three spray guns on a moving head coat them, and the built-in oven bakes the paint afterward.
- Three high-atomizing spray guns on a three-axis head
- Reciprocating spray on four sides of each piece
- Adjustable spraying speed and spraying area
- Automatic cleaning of the spray guns and pipelines
- Painting and baking in the same machine
- Three models, from 31.5 x 31.5 inches to a full 48 x 96 inch sheet
See it work
The video introduces the Ascent Automatic Spray Paint System and shows it painting letters. The head moves on three axes and the guns can rotate, so paint reaches the sides of each letter and not only the face. The operator loads the letters and starts the machine.
Painting by hand holds a shop back
Most sign shops still paint letters by hand. It works for a few pieces, but it ties one person to the spray booth, and the finish depends on who is holding the gun. Short runs and one-off jobs make it harder, because every job needs its own setup.
- A skilled sprayer is tied up for every job.
- The finish changes from one operator or shift to the next.
- Frequent color changes eat into the day.
- Repetitive spraying is tiring work.
An automatic system takes over the repetitive passes. The operator still chooses the color, the coating and the order of jobs, but does not have to stand at the booth for every pass.
How the system works
Spray head
Three high-atomizing spray guns sit on a head that moves on three axes and can rotate. It sprays back and forth over the work, reaching four sides of each piece. You can adjust the spraying speed and the spraying area to suit the job.
Paint supply
Each machine has three 2 L (0.5 gal) paint cans and one detachable 500 ml (17 fl oz) can. For a small job, the detachable can means you do not have to fill a full-size one.
Overspray and cleaning
A water curtain with air pressure and a fan filter core takes care of the overspray. The machine also cleans its spray guns and pipelines automatically, so you are not stripping them down between coatings.
Two workstations
Each machine has two workstations, one automatic and one manual.
Baking
After spraying, the built-in oven bakes the paint. The oven has five layers on the A-PT-800 and A-PT-2440 and four on the A-PT-1200.
What you can paint
The system is made for sign work. It handles:
- Acrylic and PVC letters
- Mini letters and precision letters
- Metal parts
- Plastic and wood parts
- Handicrafts
If you cut letters on an Ascent CO2 laser cutter or a fiber laser cutter, or bend returns on one of our channel letter bending machines, this is the next step from raw parts to finished color. See also how automation fits into a sign shop.
