Features
The Ascent 5AS is an all-in-one channel letter bender, fully calibrated for all materials with the ability to add new materials easily in the future. The machine has all the necessary components, including a coil holder and extrusion holder.
- UL extrusion / profiles are non-proprietary and can be purchased from Ascent at competitive prices or in large quantities directly from the manufacturer.
- As a multi-profile channel letter bender, the Ascent 5AS runs the extrusion in 1.75", 2", 3", 4" and F-trim sizes — all on the same machine.
- The extrusion is painted Epoxy white, which can be used without repainting or as an excellent primer for different colors. Other colors are available.
- Ascent's extrusion system uses a pneumatic gun (supplied with the machine) with tiny stainless-steel nails to form the initial shape of the letter, eliminating the need for adhesive. This makes producing trimless letters easier than the competition's system, which uses adhesive and a magnet table.
- The Ascent extrusion system is a UL/RU Recognized Component for indoor and outdoor use for letters up to 66" (the competition's own published guidance recommends not exceeding 38" for exterior letters).
- This channel letter bending machine can accommodate coils of stainless steel, brass, aluminum, galvanized steel and copper.
- The aluminum coils' height ranges from 1" to 8" (203.2 mm), and their thickness ranges from 0.025" to 0.063".
- Ascent equipment is the only bending system in the industry capable of making the smallest letters, with no size limit.
- The Ascent system can produce reverse halo letters without welding.
- New operators can quickly learn to run the machine and perform the final assembly of channel letters after three days of training.

Inside the system

Create stunning channel letters with the Ascent 5AS
The Ascent 5AS Channel letter bending machine is more than just a machine — it is advanced channel letter automation built as a turnkey solution for creating high-quality channel letters. We've seen how much manual labor can affect production time and costs, and this machine addresses that issue directly. It is intended to streamline your workflow and produce consistent, beautiful outcomes every time.
What the Ascent 5AS Changes in Production
Material and letter range
Handles a wide range of materials including 0.040- and 0.063-inch aluminum, stainless steel, and galvanized steel — from classic front-lit channel letters to reverse halo without welding. As a side-lit channel letter machine, it also produces illuminated return channel letters with plastic side returns.
Precision perfected
Fifth-generation bending head ensures incredibly precise side returns. Letters are properly formed and show off the quality of your brand, every time.
Reduced labor costs
Automates the most complex bending tasks, freeing up your team to focus on other parts of the project. Translates directly into lower labor costs.
Ease of use
A comprehensive training program means new operators can master the machine and perform final assembly after just a few days. Installation and training included at your facility.
No welding for reverse halo
The extrusion system produces reverse halo letters without welding. Cleaner finish, simpler process, faster production.
UL/RU Recognized Component extrusions
Industry's most straightforward assembly process. A UL/RU Recognized Component for indoor and outdoor use for letters up to 66" — well beyond the 38" that the competition's own guidance recommends for exterior use.
How the Ascent 5AS integrates with your business
The Ascent 5AS accepts the design files used in a digital sign-production workflow. A shop can cut faces and backs on its existing CNC router, then use the same geometry to form the returns without laying out each bend by hand.
Return bending that takes hours by hand can be completed in minutes on the Ascent 5AS. The production gain depends on the letter mix, operator, material, and downstream assembly capacity, but the bending step itself becomes faster and more repeatable.
The machine includes a 3-year warranty — 2 years of materials and labor, plus 1 additional year parts-only. North American technicians provide installation, training, remote diagnostics, and service support.
